Dear Professor Cullen,
--
I am a rookie private English teacher, and I need your help.
One of my students purchased your Cambridge Vocabulary for IELTS book, and regarding an exercise on page 111 a question was raised by her if the verbs TO EVOLVE and TO SWERVE could not be considered both transitive and intransitive.
She looked up those two verbs on two online dictionaries - Dictionary.com and Cambridge - and I also found in other dictionaries - Oxford, Merriam Webster, Macmillan - information that those verbs stating that they transitive and intransitive.
However the answer key of your book affirms they are not.
Would you please help us to understand which information is more correct?
Thanks in advance, and congratulations for your amazing work.
